November 2012 Update

24 November 2012

Dear friends

Time flies.  It is almost the end of 2012.  Time for me to evaluate this year’s achievements, to slowly prepare for Christmas and to program next spring’s activity.  On top of that, I have a number of ongoing projects that are inching beyond their deadlines.  Paradoxically, however, all I really want to do is just hibernate, sit back and relax, observe, enjoy, and reflect.  But below are a number of significant updates, first professional and then personal:

Early 2013 program

As usual, all my professional activity and writings are posted as open resources on www.metasysteme-coaching.eu.  This website is now receiving over 7500 visits monthly, originating from over 120 countries.   On a more informal basis, I also share personal thoughts and reflections on my Facebook page: Alain Cardon MCC, and on a Metasysteme Coaching resource page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/metasysteme.coaching/.     With Linkedin, I also occasionally post on https://www.linkedin.com/groups/Metasysteme-Systemic-Coach-Community-1966137?trk=myg_ugrp_ovr  Don’t hesitate to link up or join any of these.

The new “Systemic Supervision” Marathon I am offering will take place January 23-24-25, 2013, in Bucharest and in English.  it is one of the best intensely practical ways to fine-tune systemic coaching skills and prepare for ICF certification (ACC, PCC, and MCC). The event is slowly filling up, and I expect that it will host both international coaches and well-confirmed Romanian professionals (coaches and entrepreneurs trained in systemic coaching skills).  For international registration: https://www.metasysteme-coaching.eu/english/dates-locations-and-prices/1395/new-systemic-coaching-supervision-marathon/

Our next 9-day English language "Systemic Coaching Fundamentals" class will begin In January to end in April.  The Bucharest location is becoming a European destination for systemic coach training.  To get information on the learning process this training offers, consult:  https://www.metasysteme-coaching.eu/english/metasysteme-coaching-training-architecture/  and to find out more about dates, prices and registration, check https://www.metasysteme-coaching.eu/english/dates-locations-and-prices/1338/systemic-coaching-fundamentals-bucharest-romania/

Other English-language international events for 2013 are posted on https://www.metasysteme-coaching.eu/english/dates-locations-and-prices/

More personal updates

Recently, I have lost a close friend.  Thirty years of partnering and sharing have been put to an unexpected stop.  I am realizing that over the coming years and one at a time, I will most probably lose other life companions.  This reconnects me with another lifelong friend: an ongoing and nagging personal existential solitude.  It has always been a inseparable partner, at my side for as long as I can remember.  I'm sure it will stay with me until the end.

On the other side of life, I will soon become a grandpa.  Officially due next May. She or he will be a New Yorker, or more intimately a Yankee.  I already feel that I am entering a new life phase, personally, in our couple, and within our much larger extended family.  Expectantly, we are all preparing to welcome and make space for the next Cardon generation.

On this note, I find extraordinary pleasure in sharing my experience by writing, by training others, by helping out younger and older, confirmed or less agile beginners and professionals, first to perceive and then to explore and inhabit new inner systemic territories.  It is a tremendous personal joy when I perceive others develop their awareness to interpersonal resonances and engage in their own personal and professional discovery process.  In a way, my job is very simply to pass on my passion for my job and for life.

Also, I am at last recognizing that I am becoming a really good coach.  It has taken so long and has been so hard to start believing in myself, to build my personal foundations, to find my inner posture.  This seems to have been an endless quest.  What joy at last, to know I can somewhat follow my feelings, embrace my sensations, trust my intuitions, let go of the superfluous and quickly and simply focus on essentials.  I daily seize and savor the golden little nuggets that coaching and life bring my way.  I can even cherish more occasional difficult moments.  These almost systematically offer new easy opportunities to question and allow for innovation.

Consequently and in spite of the general trend, my financial results are excellent.  Numbers for the September 2011 - August 2012 Metasysteme year show an impressive increase in sales and multiplied profits.  A good boost in the French side of my business has more than compensated a relative slowdown in my Romanian activity.  I keep tweaking my business model to increase income effectiveness and limit overhead and costs, so I can proudly say that my taxes will heftily contribute to the French national effort.

In Romania, France and elsewhere, I am witnessing that more and more of my coach-training students are getting ICF certification, as ACC, PCC and MCC.  This is the result of many years participating in building local coach communities.  Beyond France and Romania, many of these professionals are getting European recognition, becoming very good at what they do.

Corporate executive and team clients are also offering me new playgrounds, allowing me to explore new horizons, attracting me into experimenting new forms of explorative work, often by coaching very large groups to accompany larger corporate change.  If I am actually doing much less than ever before, I find that we are achieving much more together. So in a much lighter way, my clients are getting much better results.

Consequently, I have more time for myself, to think, to write, to wander around, to mature.  And I find myself more receptive, more unpredictable, less organized, more opportunist, less linear, more adaptable, less impatient, sometimes more strategic and to the point.  Who is this new person? Maybe at last, I am arriving to the proverbial wisdom of a mature age.  Being sixty three is indeed a blessing.

So that’s all for a rapid update and winter program.  I thank you again for your active word-of-mouth that has helped position Metasysteme Coaching among the best systemic coach-training providers in Europe.  Again, I also thank you for your friendship and presence at my side for all these years.

Sincerely

Alain Cardon
